In a world where data is abundant and AI can generate instant answers, how do we design learning experiences that center student thinking, voice, and agency? This interactive workshop explores how educators can empower all learners through authentic data investigations, storytelling, and discourse-rich routines. Grounded in equitable teaching practices and aligned with emerging K–12 data science frameworks, this session highlights strategies that move beyond procedural computation toward meaningful sense-making. Attendees will explore instructional routines that support access for diverse learners as well as see examples of how a veteran teacher incorporates data literacy and data science into the math classroom through relevant data investigations and data projects. Participants will leave with adaptable tools, sample tasks, and practical strategies to design inclusive, engaging, and AI-resilient data learning experiences that position every student as a data thinker and storyteller.
