
Dustin Purdy (he/him/his)
Dustin Purdy is a passionate mathematics educator with over 17 years of experience teaching math in rural, urban, and online settings. He is a former teacher in the NYC Department of Education. He has taught grades 6-12, with experience in 6th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, 8th Grade Math, Algebra, Algebra A1/A2, Honors Algebra, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and has also taught college courses. He is a NYS Certified 5-12 Math Teacher experienced with the CC and NextGen Learning Standards.
Currently, Dustin is the Community and Belonging Coordinator, a Curriculum Coach, and Teacher at Dwight Global Online School, where he is committed to transforming mathematics education and fostering a growth mindset. As DEI Coordinator, he is passionate about ensuring that every student experiences a sense of belonging in an equitable and inclusive learning environment, where all can learn, grow, and thrive. In his journey as an Instructional Coach, Dustin’s focus remains on building spaces where all students feel empowered. Dustin is also a Math Teacher Leader in Residence for Open Up Resources where he helps train teachers around the country to implement high quality, problem-based, mathematics instruction.
