Throughout my 20 years in education, coaching has become an important part of how I support educators and grow as a teacher and leader. As a classroom teacher, instructional coach, curriculum leader, and professional learning facilitator, I’ve seen the power of having someone who listens, asks thoughtful questions, and helps you see possibilities. My approach is grounded in collaboration rather than telling—I believe educators are the experts in their classrooms, and coaching should help them identify challenges, explore strategies, take risks, and reflect on their practice. For me, coaching is ultimately about building educator confidence and agency so they can create meaningful learning experiences for their students.

The 5-Step Challenge-Based Coaching Model is a continuous process designed to help educators identify and address meaningful challenges through collaborative coaching:
Identify – Clearly define the challenge or area of growth that needs attention.
Investigate – Explore the challenge, gather information, and consider possible causes or contributing factors.
Select – Choose a specific strategy, approach, or action that best addresses the challenge.
Implement – Put the selected strategy into practice and monitor its impact.
Reflect – Evaluate what happened, consider evidence of progress, and determine next steps.
